The Dynatrol GS Level Sensor consists of a paddle-style probe that is installed through the wall of the storage tank, bin, silo or duct at the point of desired level detection. When the probe is uncovered, the paddle is free to vibrate and produce an output signal. This signal operates a relay indicating the paddle is uncovered and a low level exists. When the paddle is covered, a dampening of the oscillation occurs. The resultant loss of signal de-energizes the relay indicating that a high level exists.
The Dynatrol GS Level Sensor is powered by an EC‐501A(G) Control Unit, which is required for its designed operation. The ON/OFF signal from the Dynatrol level sensor operates a SPDT relay in the EC-501A(G) Control Unit. The contacts of this relay can be used to actuate alarms, indicator lights or process control equipment.
The EC-501A(G) Control Unit performs frequency and voltage analysis to actuate switching at the desired point level of detection. This technology has been added to the level control in order to reduce false tripping and make level measurements more dependable. This combination of level sensor design and unique electronics makes our level sensor system both reliable and rugged.
