Refining Industry Applications

Petroleum Refineries use Dynatrol® Density Cells for measuring petroleum products. Applications include butane, gasoline, jet fuel, kerosene, diesel fuel and propane, just to mention a few. For water treatment inside refineries, Dynatrol ® Density Cells may be used for measuring sulphuric acid and caustic soda.

Sugar Refineries and Cutting Mills employ Dynatrol Density Cells to measure the concentration during the extraction and refining of sugar syrups. The Dynatrol Series 2000 Digital Converter translates the syrup density and temperature measurement from the Dynatrol Cell into the customers’ required units of measurement -- °BRIX, Baumé, percent dry substance (D.S.) or Specific Gravity.

Dynatrol Density Cells also measure various chemicals used during sugar processing. The Dynatrol Converter’s output readings of the chemical concentrations help to maintain quality assurance standards.

Bio-Refineries, producing ethanol from corn, utilize Dynatrol Cells primarily for measuring the density of the mash. The mash is ultimately processed into “beer” and further processed into ethanol.

Dynatrol Level Indicators are also used in Bio-Refineries. Level probes easily measure grain levels in hoppers or the level of natural cereals produced from the biomass.
